Chicago hotels and what to do???
DH and I are planning to spend our 1st wedding anniversary in Chicago (December). ?We would like to stay on Michigan Ave, a hotel that?offers room service, and is more of a old school, classic hotel that also decorates for the holidays ?tell me which hotels you recommend, and things to do during this time of year (holiday themed). ?
TIA !!!?
Re: Chicago hotels and what to do???
I think the hotel on Michigan Ave that would best fit your description would be the Drake. It's old school and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Definitely hit up the brunch at the Drake for a "holiday-themed" thing to do, and then shopping on Michigan Avenue and State Street are always fun. There's also the Christkindlmarket in the Daley Plaza or ice skating at Millenium Park? Have fun!

Another classic Chicago holiday thing to do is a meal in the Walnut Room of Macy's. Wait times can get pretty ridiculous there (a couple of hours), but you can wander the store in the meantime.
Eew Ditka's is gross!! I'd suggest the Chicago Chop House, Morton's, Joe's Seafood, Keefer's, Gibson's or Hugo's Frog Bar.
Because we're fancy like that.
