Do you think bowl season lasts too long?
So, weeks after the regular season ended, we're finally to the National Championship. Do you think that bowl season lasted too long? Do you think that all the BCS games should be played within the same week and that the other bowl games should be played before it?

Re: Do you think bowl season lasts too long?
I'm really kind of torn about this for a couple reasons:
1) I LOVE college football and part of me wants it to last as long as possible....
2) But I feel like it is unfair to the players/coaches for them to wait so long. What has it been... six weeks now for the teams playing tonight? I think it would be hard to carry the momentum of the season over for that long and to stay in tip top shape physically and mentally.
Unfortunately I think a lot of it is driven by money - they don't want too many bowl games competing with each other so that each can cash in (advertising/attendance/etc) as much as possible.
I do like that the BSC championship is played last though... its the climax of the season.

Hmmm..well, it has been awhile...thinking back to when we went to Atlanta for the SEC Championship...I wouldn't mind if this game was closer to that game..
But, my real issue with bowl season is just the number of bowls...they seriously don't need to have 6-6 teams playing in bowl games. I mean..the Pinstripe Bowl? Seriously?

This.
It all comes back to the money issue... although I was happy UW got the chance to stick it to Nebraska!

I think they should just drop some of the bowl games. I know that probably won't happen because of money, but we don't need 30 bowl games before the BCS games are played. That's just ridiculous. And play all the non-important ones [like the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl] BEFORE New Year's, if you're gonna keep all the bowls the way they are.
I think they should rotate it out - the BCS bowl site that's hosting the national championship should play their BCS game first, and they play all five games in a row. I'm not sure if the BCS games are played in the same order every year though, so not sure if that would work.
When WVU played in the Fiesta Bowl in 2008, it was on Jan. 2. This year it was on Jan. 1. I don't know how they figure out which BCS game is when. Maybe the site hosting the National Championship gets to play their BCS game on Jan. 1.
