(I even think you could say that stagflation is back)
now, the other day, someone was telling me about an article that was saying cupcakes are out and pie would be the next big thing...but I think it will be cookies. Wasn't Mrs.Field's HUGE in the 80's?
Re: The 80's are back
I had some impressive bangs in the 80's
Werent leggings pretty big back then too?
Yep, leggings too!

The 80's have definitely been experiencing a resurgence over the last few years. 80's parties were huge last decade. Lots of remakes of 80's movies/TV shows/cartoons. Skinny jeans, acid wash, and faded black denim came back. The color teal was back "in" (along with other bright colors). A lot of tops have emphasis added to the shoulders (generally ruffles or poofs instead of shoulder pads though). Jellies shoes came back (although they only lasted a year or two -- I don't see them much now). Ankle boots are another nod to the late 80's/early 90's. Dolman sleeves and cowl necks also made a comeback a few years ago.
I've actually been noticing recently that certain things from the 90's are starting to pop back up. I think that in a few years we'll be seeing a big 90's resurgence to replace the 80's (which would make sense, since I recall the 70's coming back in the 90's). I've seen a lot of plaid flannel button up shirts (a la the grunge look), and a lot of bowler hats, and some suspender pants/modified overalls. I've also noticed things like fitted sheer lace tops, and Doc Marten style shoes. I suspect we'll see a lot of that 90's minimalist black come back (with very structured/tailored all or mostly black outfits or pieces). In fact, I've already been mulling over the 90's fashion for awhile (part of why I keep noticing the stuff coming back) so I can have my costume ready for the first 90's parties of this decade.
I think whoopie pies are the new cupcakes...
But definitely, the 80s are back! Keds and all. All you have to do is flip through an Urban Outfitters catalog.

My 17 year old niece has had those side bangs for the last year or two.
Am I the only one who thinks it's too soon for the 80/90's to be back? Good thing I'm not a fashionista and don't wear any trendy pieces.
crimped hair seems to be making a coming back too.
I don't understand any of these fashion trends. Ugh. I'll be that really unstylish person that sticks with the style of her 20's for the rest of her life. Expect if they bring back the '20's-'60's, I could have some fun with that I suppose. Just no more of this 80's-90's crap. Criminy! I thought we'd all decided to never go back to that again, and then bam! Nevermind, its cool again? I don't get it.

I know I'm probably the only one who loves that the 90's are back!
Big hair, bright colors and patterns, funky shoes and accessories, glitter, sparkles... I'm in heaven! I always wanted to be DJ Tanner when I was little.
