Critique my menu please-bridal shower

HI

I am having a cocktail party bridal shower in the summer between 5-8 pm.  I read online that I should have 8-10 choices and 2-3 items per guest as it is during meal times.  I will have two salads and a cheese & Fruit Display. I am also doing a dessert table.

Here are some ideas for appetizers

Herb Stuffed mushrooms

Scallops wrapped in Bacon

Sausage bites

Tortellini Skewers with Pesto Drizzle

Spanikopta

Artichoke Squares

Tomatoe Gorgonzola bites

Shrimp Cocktail

Mini Twice baked Potatoes

I am also thinking of some type of Chicken appetizer or Meatball Mini bites.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Re: Critique my menu please-bridal shower

  • I think the menu sounds great!  My only comment would be to omit the salads.  Everything else is finger foods. I imagine people standing/mingling with their plates.  Eating a salad would be a bit more awkward, but maybe that's just me.

  • Sounds great!

I see you have two seafood options.  If you're near the coast or seafood's really popular in your group, fine, but otherwise maybe consider switching one of those for chicken.

I wouldn't add the meatballs since you already have processed meat with the sausage bites.

Just curious, by salads do you mean like a pasta or potato salad or a leafy green salad?  I agree that leafy green could be hard to eat - if you feel you need veggies, maybe have carrots and dip.  If it's a pasta salad, make sure it doesn't repeat the flavors in the tortellini with pesto app.

(I'm planning my own similar party right now and it's SO much easier to look at someone else's menu than your own! lol)

  • The only thing I would add is some sort of veg, unless that's what the salads are.  Roasted veggies, or a veggie tray, something with tomatoes, or just something a little lighter would be a nice addition.
  • If you have a cake, please offer something for those of us who can't have chocolate.  I hate when I can't eat cake at a party.
