Hello and help a fellow nestie

Hi Ladies I'm from the DC board.  I got married in upstate NY and I'm looking to move back (prefer Albany or north).  I am currently a health and PE teacher and if any of you know of open positions can you please send some info my way?  You can email me or post here - kat_Sk8 @ yahoo.com

Thank you so much ladies for any leads you might have!

Re: Hello and help a fellow nestie

  • Hi! I want to say Good Luck finding a teaching job up here - its a really tough market!

I am from the Syracuse area, so I dont have any specific leads for you, but you should check the OLAS website. www.olasjobs.org. I know Ive seen a lot of jobs in the Albany area in the past!

  • I second the OLAS site.

Good luck though, every district in our area is cutting jobs.  My district cut part of the health program in the elementary schools so they cut a few teachers in that area.  We have plenty of PE teachers but most of them are young and I doubt any are planning on retiring anytime soon.

  • Try OLAS.  You can sub, but there are over 2,000 subs on the BOCES sub list.  I wish you lots of luck.  It is very hard to find a teaching job in this area.  I agee with Dar that most districts are cutting jobs. I am a teacher who has worked at private schools and had been trying to get into public schools for years.
