I'm here! I was doing somework for the first hour I was at work, and now I think i have nothing I can really do for the rest of the day. gonna be a LOOOOOOONG day. I love my job, but I need more to do!

I've seen a couple episodes randomly. The ones that scare me though are the new ones I've seen commercials for that show people who hoard ANIMALS!!! I mean really?!?! One guy had 38 chickens. 38 chickens!!!!! That's scary!
Here, but getting really tired of cleaning up other people's mistakes at work. I like my job, but really can't stand some of my coworkers.
Wishing that we were getting 4 feet of snow instead of 4 inches. I went to the library and stocked up on books last night, so I'm good to be snowed in for a week or so...
Oh, and K called me at 6:45 this morning to tell me we had no heat at the house (I was already at work). So, he took a day today to wait for the furnace repair dude - at least it's a guy his work contracts & he gets along with so we shouldn't get screwed...hopefully...cross your fingers it's minor and we don't need a new furnace.
That sucks!! GL!!! Hopefully it's fixed and up and running before you get home! Otherwise you guys might need some quality snuggling time tonight!

I'm here, but should be catching up on work. We were in Tahoe for the past few days, and I'm horribly unmotivated to work today. I miss the boarding, the mountain air and the gorgeous mountains. DC is just getting old to me... I stepped out of the airport last night and realized that the air just tastes like exhaust here. Ick.
I'm here. I've just been relatively quiet lately.
I'm looking forward to some more snow tonight/tomorrow. I need to ask my boss for permission to work from home tomorrow, but I'm sure he won't have a problem with it.
I had an AWFUL headache yesterday (more like a migraine). Seriously, every noise and the lights and the computer screen were making my head pound. I couldn't deal with everyone typing! So I went home, took some alieve and curled up in my dark bedroom.
Tonight is supposed to be wii night (with MOH and BM, our BFFs). Last week it got cancelled cause they were fighting. And I do not look forward to their cooking. H and I can be food snobs. At the same time, I eat pretty much anything, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it. MOH and BM are supposed to be moving Feb 1, but they don't know where yet. One of the places they're looking at is REALLY cheap, but in a REALLY sh!tty area. It's close to where H and I lived in college, but in the bad part of town, right down the block from the projects.
I keep telling myself "It's not my life. It's not my life." over and over again.

It is their life, but at the sametime you care about them and you know the area - ya know.
I'd think they'd listen to your concerns w/o getting upset that you're being pushy or mothering.
Sunshine- Did you go to North or South Lake Tahoe?
DH wants to go in March. We usually go to South, but I told him this time around we have to go either to North or we're going somewhere else. One of my resolutions this year is to go to new places. We've already been to South twice so I want to go either to North or not at all.
I'm here, late as usual since I'm on the West Coast...West Side! I'm so proud of myself for doing 40 minutes on the treadmill, even more proud of myself that I had a smaller than usual portion of spaghetti for dinner, and an apple for dessert. I swear, I'm trying to be good!
I was checking my email and got a fb request from one of my old HS friends. Geez, I haven't heard from him since I was 16 when he moved to TX. Over the years I've tried looking him up on Myspace and Classmates with no success. It's nice to get in touch with long lost friends.
Oh, I definitely voiced my concerns. But BM insists "there is nothing wrong with the area" and even though I sent him several articles about (recent) shootings occurring less than a block away, he's one of those "I'm always right" types and short of the complex burning down or something, he's going to move there. Unfortunately for MOH, she's freaking out b/c of the articles but is going to end up there anyway.

Closely monitoring the weather for the snow. Last thing I want to do is get caught in a rush hour drive home tonight. The hour plus, bumper to bumper commute is bad enough on its own. Add in the people who lose it at the sight of any precipitation and I'm FUBARed.
Laura, how soon is she moving? Try to get some quality time in with her now.

I know! I thought of you while we were out there! We went up to Truckee one day and rode Squaw. We stayed in South Lake, though. We did Heavenly and Kirkwood while we were there, too. It was so beautiful up there, I never wanted to leave! The mountains said they miss you. :-)
And... we spent about 30 min in Reno. I put $1 in a penny slot machine and won $22. Yeah! I call that a good day.
oooh truckee. how i love/hate you. kirkwood is supposed to be epic! and $22 from $1? i call that a good day too!

$85 later, we have a working furnace!!! The guy had to replace the thermal coupling ??? but basically said we REALLY need to look into replacing both the furnace and the A/C unit (which hasn't worked for almost 2 years)...so, goodbye tax return & bonus
bummer about having to probably still replace the furnace and the a/c unit, but at least your furnace is working for now and you dont have to go home to a freezing home
Kirkwood was awesome! K used to live in San Fran and always had season passes to Kirkwood and recommended it. The lift passes were cheap and it was essentially empty on a Sunday. Pretty good conditions too considering how skiied out the other places were. Now I want to go back in the summer time and play on the lake!
Dude, that blows. I mean it's good that your furnace is fixed for now, but sucky that it probably needs replaced. I'm scared to death of this, too. Our heating/cooling system is almost 27 years old (the original from when the house was built). And I'm so not budgeting for it to break any time in the near future. I hold my breath every time it kicks on and makes a loud "boom".
