Well, that's great that the MRI was normal. Hopefully, they'll squeeze you in soon so you can get some answers.

Sounds like the pain mgmt doctor in our building. they make people wait forever.
As far as waiving the co-pay goes; The Dr. is not the one that requires the copay, the insurance does.
For some policies the copay is considered part of the out of pocket. Many Doctors will not waive the copay because it is in their contract with the insurance to collect the copay from the patient.
Obviously these are extenuating circumstances, so they may waive it, but from what I've seen most offices will not.
My Pedis office has waived Macy's copay twice. I don't know how it was handled with the provider/insurance company but all I know is I didn't have to pay
