A lot of stuff happened in 1995. It was the year I graduated high school and it was the year of the Oklahoma City bombing. I just realized it's been 16 years since 1995.
SIXTEEN years since the bombing, come April 19th. I can't believe it.
A boy in my high school class got his sophomore girlfriend pregnant that year too. That baby was born just days after we graduated. And she's ABOUT TO START DRIVING! I can't believe it. She'll be the same age that her mother was when she was born. Unreal! I went to a private Catholic school, and that sophomore was the first girl to be able to keep attending school after it was found out that she was pregnant. The only other one before that, was in the early 80's and was a thing of legend... she hid her pregnancy and had the baby over Christmas break. No one ever knew she was pregnant. It's pretty amazing the growth that can come over a couple of decades. And yes, I do think it was growth. The boy from my class and that sophomore had a lot of support. They both had to attend counseling, along with their whole family. They had their baby and had a lot of family support. They were both able to finish school, finish college, and ended up getting married about 8 years later. Their 2nd daughter was born after that. They are proof that with a lot of love and support and some clear-headed thinking, you can overcome a lot in life.
Why does time fly by so fast after we grow up? The year before the wedding was just like a blink of the eye. I'm going to be 34 and I remember 21 as if it was yesterday.
Re: Good grief it's been 16 years now!

So weird! Today, to-the-date is 16 years that my grandmother passed. It's funny now that I'm older and have recently lost my mom-mom, I look at it so differently. I can remember every single detail of today, 16 years ago, as if it were yesterday. I don't know what that stuff fades, or if it ever really will.
Last night, Mike and I celebrated 100 days of marriage (lame-o, but whatev haha) and we looked back at my calendar of counting down the days till the wedding to see what we were up to.. It was a summer night towards the end of June that we celebrated 100 days till marriage (yup, lame haha) but it was crazy to see that time is just passing us by.
