V-Day

The past several years we've gone to the beach for the weekend as our gift to each other instead of doing all the cards, chocolates, and flowers since they're outrageously expensive then.  But this year, money is a little tighter and I think we should just stay home.  So I need some creative help...what are some cute ideas for low-key night in or a night out if it's low-cost???  TIA ladies!

Re: V-Day

  • Make a nice meal. If neither of you is a cook - make something together, because you'll have so much fun with the experience, it won't matter how the food turns out.  Grab a bottle of wine and an older romantic comedy - something from when you were younger, or even first dating.

  • You could bring the beach to you by making a seafood meal and adding some cute adornments to the table (like going to the craftstore and buying a jar of sand and some seashells for a center piece).

Money is really tight for us as well, so we'll probably eat dinner at home, watch a romantic movie, and just be calm with each other.

ETA. If you do the beach at home you can also force him to dress up in beach attire, drink frozen mixed drinks, and play beach themed music.

  • My darling is being surprised with his game system repaired, his favorite junk food, and my taking our two toddlers away for the day.   His mother is being told that he is working all day so she won't bother him either.  This will give him a day to sleep late and play video games all day.

  • Last year I put together a little gift basket for my boyfriend. Valentines is a holiday that I don't feel a lot of money needs to be spent on, but I like making something special.  I got all the fixens together for smores the chocolate bar, the marshmellows, and the gram crackers, then I put a frame in the basket with a picture of us in it and decorated the frame with the words, "Every Day I Love You Smore!" Yes, it is a little corny but also really cute. Hope This Helps!
