Superbowl Party - What food do you expect?

Hi there,

My husband and I are planning to host our 1st superbowl party in our new home.  Roughly about 20-25 people.  Since kickoff is 6:30pm - what types of food would you expect?

Thanks

When life hands you a bunch of lemons, make lemonade-call me over and I'll bring the tequila and salt!

Re: Superbowl Party - What food do you expect?

  • We are hosting a superbowl party for 18 (15 adults and 3 kids)  I am making spiced nuts, homemade mac & cheese, vegetarian chili, spicy wings, a vegetable tray, a fruit tray, and corn muffins.   I have not figured out the desserts but there will be two types of finger desserts (cookies, brownies, fudge). Others will bring their specialties also; but I won't know what these are until they arrive.
  • Ooo Super Bowl Parties! We're throwing one too. This is my list of must have foods so far:

    • Chicken Wings - bbq and asian zing, complete with celery sicks, carrot sticks, ranch and bleu cheese dressings
      Chips and Salsa
Wavy Chips and french onion dip
      Pickle Roll
      Pinwheels
Last year I made a ham and cheese loaf instead of the pinwheels. It was just a little heavier then the pinwheels and fills people up a bit more.
Chocolate Rice Krispie footballs or Oreo Truffles for a super easy dessert.

I get a TON of my recipes off of KraftFoods.com. They are usually very simple and user friendly. It's also easy to add some of your own variations.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your party!

  • Definitely nothing fancy...lots of snacks and drinks and if you don't want to cook, maybe a party sub or pizza.  Chili or pulled pork in crock pot are always good for a crowd.
  • I'm not even prepared to think Superbowl yet.  Too much other entertaining crowding my brain.  But I've bookmarked these for just this sort of thing.
  • I definitely think bar food type apps.  Wings, meatballs, egg rolls, pretzel nuggets, popcorn, chips and dip, nachos, really anything finger foody.  I would add in some veggies and cheese and crackers.
  • i 2nd what everyone else has said...

    as for a different dessert?
you could do cheesecake cupcakes with a small scoop of pie filling on top - they're so yummy and go fast - just a few bites and these babies are gone!

    Just kidding.

Last year we went to a party and they had New Orelans type food.  I appreciated the thought that went into it, but I really wanted the typical football food (or much of what has already been listed).

  • I have the best taco dip recipe if you're interested.  It is always a HUGE hit.  There is always 1 person that walks away & says I Need to have that recipe!  It's so easy too.  Email me if you're interested.

  • We don't have a party with actual guests, but I have 2 sons so I live in a house of guys! We always have a spread of fun food and have our own "party."

    We always have:

    homemade sausage and pepperoni pizza

    buffalo wings

    crabbies

sausage cream cheese dip with ritz crackers

    Paula Deen's "All Day Mushrooms"

    gooey butter cake

  • When we hosted a couple of parties in the last few years, we did a good amount of food.  We had appetizers - a couple of dips and chips.  A friend brought potato skins. Last year we did pulled pork with cole slaw and macaroni and cheese.  One year we got a wedge and then made wings and penne vodka.
