I have had two laptops, an hp, and a dell. Both have had to be replaced shortly after two years.
I'm looking for something that won't have to be replaced so soon!
I'm looking to spend $600-$800. Are there any specifics that you all would recommend?
I don't really use the computer for anything terribly important, school work, photo editing, and internet browsing.

Ditto, our Inspiron lasted about that long, too, after two glasses of water spilled, a cracked (and replaced) screen, and an unfortunate incident with a machine shop floor. And our HP is on more than two years now...we've decided we'll replace it when we reach 3 years, though, because we don't like it (bought it without doing much research when the Dell finally died right before start of a semester).
What are you doing to your laptops?
Do they need to be replaced, or do you just want to replace them?
I've had two Toshibas...the first I replaced after I think 3 years, and that was only because of my addiction to getting new gadgets, it still worked just fine. My new one has been going fine for two years now.
Of course, maybe your problem is your definition of "dying." Are you sure they weren't problems that could have been fixed?
