Re: Did you guys see this?
I feel the same way. I'm not going to argue with freedom of speech, but they are repulsive. I literally cannot find one good reason for these human beings to be on earth.
I know! I am 100% equally repulsed my their anti gay antics, but this one might be the most ridiculous one yet. My mind can't even begin to process it.
Ugh! They protested a funeral of a solider in my hometown. The church had volunteers come and hold flags infront of the church to block them . I know atleast 1000 people showed up and the closest the protesters could get was a gas station a mile down the street.
They are awful people.
I absolutely love this. This is what every town that these people come to needs to do. They shouldn't have to do it, but it's what needs to happen to keep these people away.
This is kind of what I was referring to about you guys thinking I was crazy. I don't advocate violence but I honestly think that if they were protesting the funeral of one of my family members that I'd get in my car and run someone over.
ETA: Which of course would result in me being arrested and ultimately just fuel their hatred. I just don't know how people resist lashing out at them. Blocking them is the best thing by far but I really admire the restraint these people have.
I have attended two military funerals in which WBC said they would be protesting. Once as a friend of the family and once as a part of the Patriot Guard. It is quite a moving experience being a part of it and as someone who was hurting.
This is what really impresses me (as I kind of said above).
I love this. What a bright silver lining on a very dark cloud. It is quite moving to see how everyone is coming together. Thanks for sharing.
That's what they want. They provoke people to be violent against them, and then they get arrested and the crazies go on about their craziness. It is so pathetic.
Absolutely disgusting.
On the up side, these people will be shielding passers-by from the Westboro Protesters as a sort of counter- protest:

This is great.
I know, but I understand the urge to react in that way so I really do admire the people who don't. It's disgusting that they play on people's emotions in that way.
