I need some ideas for Valentine's Day. I can't cook him a special meal b/c I cook for him all the time and he doesn't have anything special he likes. We're very affectionate but not corny. Thats fine for other couples but that is nothing like us.... I have no idea and money is tight. Last year I made him a gift basket with mini bud lights, nuts, jerky, other snacks and sweets. So there is an idea if anyone else wants to use it but I need a new one!
Re: ideas for V-Day
What does he like to do? That would help with ideas. Maybe it doesn't have to be food related.
My H and I are the same way, we love eachother, but sometimes uber romantic ideas don't come to us.
Since we love camping a few Valentine's Days ago, my H surprised me by moving all the furniture in the living room and setting up our tent and had the fire going. Inside the tent he even put up plastic glow-stars. It was wonderful.
Check out this website for ideas: http://www.gifts.com/valentines-day/man/nC0RkV?mode=200
There's chocolate covered strawberries with sports topping, microbrew giftbasket, or microbrew of the month club. Sports colored M&Ms.
I considered getting DH a beer of the month membership, but then he asked for some specific stuff so I figured I'd get him what he asked for instead.
As for food, do you have a favorite restaurant that does take out? Or a favorite dessert? You could make anything and just had a favorite kick to it.
I think DH and I will probably eat whatever I cook at home and then watch a movie, snuggle, you know...
Tea Time for Lulu
I don't know if mine counts as "corny", but I am making a Valentine's board game out of cardboard, paper, and colorful pens. It charts our dating/engagement/first year of marriage on the board, there are rules about "toasting" (wine, soda, etc.) when a 1 or 6 is rolled, and the last homestretch has spaces that require the stripping of specified pieces of clothing. Maybe a little risque, but we're still in the honeymoon phase...right?
Otherwise, we are pretty tight on money too. We set a 20.00 limit for each of us. H would rather me buy some lingerie than get him anything. I'm debating, though. For sure I'll buy some inexpensive wine, make dinner, and have the house cleaned up so he can come home and we can just relax together.
Oh, and really -- H would be happy if we just gave cards to each other, snuggled...and went from there. If thats all you guys want, thats really all you need.
Buy a jersey for his favorite team (too small for you) and pair it with a cheer skirt and pedi socks with tennis shoes. Do a cheer for him that's a poem with you and him in it......sexy underwear or none (your ballgame) and then bang like a screen door in a hurricane.
(you can pm me for my address, he'll want to mail me flowers afterwards too)
