SQUEEE! AW: Booked our anniversary trip.
We were going to go to Costa Rica, but my TA found a good deal to Jamaica. We're going to a Couples Resort. I've read nothing but fabulous things on the web site, and I'm really pumped!
I've heard people either love or hate Jamaica. Has anyone here been? Anything I need to know?

I got married at a Couples resort in Jamaica. Which one you going to?
I loved it. It was beautiful and romantic and relaxing. The staff was great. And, hey, unlimited booze.
Couples Negril. I looked at it and Swept Away and basically tossed a coin. The reviews for both were fantastic.
Did you go on any excursions while there? Anything you'd recommend? I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. We're pretty Mexico happy travelers, so this will be a teeny bit out of the box, I guess.
We were in Ocho Rios at Couples San Souci. We did the Dunn's River Falls tour, which was really neat, but I don't know if it's available from Negril. It would be a pretty long drive. We also did the 4-wheeler excursion, where they took us up to the mountains and we got to drive around. The views were amazing. A few of the days we just sat on the beach and had food and booze brought to us.

I have stayed in Ocho Rios and loved Jamaica! The resort will most likely tell you not to stray from the resort without a tour guide or be on an excursion. So, when we went shopping we had to do an "excursion" but ended up being really nice because it was just us and another couple being personally escorted everywhere.
Ditto on Dunn's River Falls tour, there is child way and an adult way, FYI. We happened to be in a group with small children and went the easier path, but omg it was freaking tough! Bring water shoes!
Definitely have jerk! And try a Bob Marley drink! Yum!
