omigod, my back is KILLING me!

totally my fault, but still.  i didn't get out of my chair or stretch enough yesterday, then had dinner at my sister's (more sitting, but my cousin's in town for his standford medical school interview and i haven't seen him in ages).  was achy last night but didn't seem too bad.  woke up at 4am because i was in pain.  stretched, took a percocet, fell back asleep.  didn't feel so bad this a.m. but omigod... right now i am dying!  and i've been getting up to walk and stretching!  and i took a percocet, which hasn't really taken the edge off.  thank goodness i'm going to the chiropractor tomorrow.

  • That totally sucks.  I feel your pain, having had my first back injuries over the last year or so.  Until it happened to me, I never understood what the big deal was but it's so much worse than any sports injury I've ever had (including my dislocated thumb that took months to completely heal).  My back is still not 100% right after several months.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

i didn't get it, either, until it happened to me.  my husband's been dealing with chronic back pain the past four years and is convinced that if i hadn't had back problems of my own we'd be divorced by now.  i think he's overstating it just a bit, but i am a lot more understanding than i used to be.

  • My back got so bad that my husband bought me a massage chair a few years ago. It's a lifesaver. My back is so much better now. Whenever the muscles start to spasm, I do a couple of cycles and I'm all fixed. But that doesn't sound like what you have because Ice would not help me. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon. Hugs.
