So here's the backround:
My dad had some major shoulder issues for the past year, and was out of work. He got surgery, and finally got the clearance to go back, but doing light work (he works at a brewery).
He was back at work no more than a month, then Monday he tripped over something and broke his elbow.
On top of that, his girlfriend (basically my step-mom) has had some weird health problems that causes her to be in a lot of pain, but it's not as bad in recent weeks.
He lives 4 hours away and I didn't get a chance to see him at Christmas, so I need to send him gifts anyways.
I wanted to send them a care package with things they would need, but am drawing a blank.
DH suggested a Wii game...but I'm like, well he has a bad shoulder and the other arm is broken (in other words, he's not much help).
Any ideas would be lovely ![]()
Re: Care Package Ideas?
Hmmm.. does he like any other games? Soduko (sp?), crosswords, etc?
A couple magazines?
Do you cook? Maybe all the dry ingredients for a soup?
A couple movies?
That -is- hard.

I'd be inclined to send a package of their favorite snack foods and maybe tickets to a movie (if they can get out and about comfortably)?
Favorite snack foods
Gift card to a fav restaurant
books, magazines, sudoku, crosswords (whatever they are into)
would there be any board games they would like?
Do they have any hobbies they can still do?
Trip to Prague & bring home furbaby when we get back

**Wedding/House/Travel Bio **
DVD's of a TV series you think they might like...
Books they might like (Steig Larsson's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series?)
Fleece blanket (because they're always nice)
Favorite guilty pleasure snack food
I like a lot of the other ideas:
-DVDs
-Gift card for resteraunt, movie theater
-Blanket
-Was he at the wedding? A framed picture from it?
-Boxed popcorn
-Is he sentimental? Do you have access to childhood picture? Maybe make a photobook of pics of your past
-A "gopher grabber", those things sold on info commercials to help you reach things (sold in Walgreens, I bought one for DH when he broke his collar bone once and he actually loved it)
-Scrabble, Mancala, Cards, Checkers, Chess
