I can't do a pic in the post. It won't work for some reason.
I am STILL looking for a comforter or something for our guest room.
I found THIS @ Jcpenney. or THIS
I like the colors, but I just don't know. I was thinking if I paired it with some throw pillows that have a starfish or fish, or seashell it might tie it with the beachy feel I want.
I'm a commit-a-phobe about this stupid comforter. I've been to BBB about 5 different times, they have the same crap every time so I don't know why I keep going back.
Here are some pics of the room currently- The bed frame is to big for the room, IMO. Between that frame & that dresser there is not a lot of room.

Re: is this fug?
1st one- fug
2nd one- meh
wah. That's what I thought. I can not find anything that I MUST HAVE!
Well, I have. But I refuse to spend $200. and BBB is not putting them on sale.
Solid color and decorative pillows?

We went to target and looked at that one, it is really cute, but the material was GROSS feeling. The one that is on the bed now is a fine color, but it's cheap and the material skeeves me out, I hate the way it feels and I couldn't make any guests sleep under that thing.iccck
I am decor-challeneged. It never occurs to me to paint it, but I do like that idea. The frame is not idea, but it was free from my Dad, so whatev. I am debating whether or not to get rid of it all together.
I like the idea of a solid comforter w/ pillows, it seems much easier. I like the thought of a "themed" comforter, but it's proving to be challenging.
I know I can find cute pillows @ Homegoods, or marshalls or something.
It's okay Lauren, I still secretly like the first one. I don't love the big leaves on the second one, but I could deal with them.
I just feel like I have no idea what looks good, and what doesn't, so if someone says it fug then it must be because I have no clue.
I'm going to go to JcPenney when I get off and see if they have it in the store.
I'm the same way, I always feel clueless when it comes to decorating. Because of that, I don't find decorating fun at all, I just find it stressful!
I like the idea of staying simple with decorative touches ideas for you
!
Try IKEA. I was there earlier and almost bought a duvet cover for $29.99. It was cute. I was going to stuff my comforter in it for the guest room.

I like the second one better than the first. I would definitely try to paint the bed white though as I think that would make it look great.
I am so decor challenged its not even funny! Thank goodness for DH's mom as she is pretty good and helped to decorate our house. Although some things I had to put my food down and say absolutly not, then of course I looked like a capital Bit** and we were not even engaged when we moved in together so that made it worse. haha

Okay, if the bed frame is white, then shouldn't the dresser be white?
I will be murdered if I painted that dresser. That thing is older then..Well, it's old.
I should find another dresser for that room.
I also not opposed to taking down the gigantic sailboat picture.
OMG. I need to get an idea in my head and just stick with it.
I think you can totally pull off keeping the dresser as is (I would add a rattan basket or something and a cutesy lamp) and still painting the bed. What if you painted the bed white and then distressed it? That would it would all kind of have an eclectic feel.
I would stay with simple colors and add accessories that will pop. Go crazy there, but keep everything else simple.
Whenever I need ideas for inspiration, I google images for ideas. It really helps me find a direction!
