Dunne'

Where have you been girl? What's going on with your wedding?

Re: Dunne'

  • Hey!  I know, I've been MIA quite a bit and totally didn't come to the GTG (I was sick) and have just been in a funk lately.  I was working quite a bit around the holidays and now that's come to a hault since it was just a seasonal position.  Plus, I flew to MI for a while to spend time with family/friends and C has been off of work for a while (with the weather and holidays) so I was spending lots of quality time with him.  Now, I'm just trying to get back into the groove of things, getting my house cleaned and continuing to get settled in more and more (we've been getting furniture and things to make it more like a home).

Wedding plans are pretty much nil right now as we've decided not to do a wedding/reception.  I was stressing out too much about what to do, when, who to invite, etc. and, of course, everyone had their opinion to add in.  I finally had a "come to Jesus" moment and realized it's stupid to get stressed out over something like this.  We're getting married because we love each other and want to commit ourselves to each other before God, not because we want to throw a huge, expensive party.  So, we've decided to do something very intimate with just the 2 of us and hopefully will be getting our pastor from SC to marry us.  We LOVED him and that church so it would really mean a lot if he could do it and we may just do a little weekend getaway to Charleston or something while we're there.  We'd rather spend the money on vacations this year (we have a few planned), buying a house, and getting ready to TTC.

So now I have more time to nest and look for a job!  I loved getting out of the house for a few days a week, so I definitely want to find something to occupy my time and help me to meet people here in the area!!

Wow, that was long...sorry!  What's new with you?  Anything?  Thanks, btw, for checking in on me!  I'll be around more often (I've been on some of the other boards, but it was kind of dead over here for a while)!
