All the pregnant ladies and brand new mommies

How are you feeling?

Morning sickness? Any recent ultrasounds? Are you finding out the gender?

How are you coping with a newborn? Sleep schedule? Are you sleeping when they sleep? Are you ok?

Re: All the pregnant ladies and brand new mommies

  • Thanks for asking!

I am 30 weeks today....it has gone so fast!

I never had any morning sickness (I know, lucky!).  I had an ultrasound last Thursday.  Jamie was estimated at 2lbs and 11oz!  We also got an awesome picture that showed his cute little face....no need for a 3d US now.  My only issues now are aching pelvis, especially in the crotch area (weird) and I am tired all of the time from doing everything around the house (hubby still on crutches) and teaching 15 year olds all day!

  • Feeling great at almost 23 weeks!  I just started feeling him kick starting this past monday, which is really cool!  DH has yet to feel the kicks from the outside, but hopefully soon!  I have my next appt on the 20th with the new MW practice I had to join once my insurance at work changed for this year.  I am hoping that I will get a random u/s just so I can see the little guy again!

I am in the process of trying to figure out a way to convince DH that we should do one of those 4D scans but he thinks they are a waste of money!  I really wanna see LO again for 2 reasons: 1. Just cause I want to and 2. since the anatomy scan when we found out he was a boy DH didn't seem convince by the u/s pics that the money shot was his boy parts so now he has put some doubt in the back of my mind that they somehow got the gender wrong.

  • Honestly - I'm exhausted and I just want to be able to eat.  I've actually lost weight this time around because nothing sounds good and when I try to make myself eat, it just makes me nauseous.

I had the ultrascreen/NT scan on Monday - all is good with the little one!  We aren't sure if we're going to find out the sex yet, but if we do it will be on 2/23.

I am sure that you will. My insurance only paid for one more after the anatomy scan.

  • I'm doing ok. The morning sickness is tapering off, which is a blessing. I'll be happy when that and the constant fatigue are gone.

We had an ultrasound at 8 weeks to determine my due date, and it was amazing to see our little person. We get to listen to the heartbeat at my appt on the 31st, and I am so excited about that. We'll be finding out the gender, probably in late March or early April.

I still haven't told my new job, but I'm getting close to second tri, so I'm starting to wonder when I should do it.

  • Thanks for asking.

I have had an easy 1st tri. Exhaustion has been my worst symptom. Oh and my boobs are on fire. Ouch! We have out NT scan on the 27th. I am excited to see our little peanut again especially now that it will actually look like a baby.

  • We're doing pretty good. I really miss getting a full night of sleep though. She wakes about every 3-3.5 hours through the night to eat, but goes right back to sleep, thankfully! I usually catch a nap sometime in the afternoon, but normally when she is sleeping I'm getting things done around the house. It's just tiring. I go back to work in a week and a half and I'm wondering how well I can handle it.

  • We are doing well. Sleep happens, but there is no "schedule". Luke has slept through the night two times in the last week (11p-6a and 12a-6a). He usually gives me a 4-5 hour stretch, wakes up to eat and then gives me another 3 hour stretch. I sleep when he sleeps, most of the time. I do use some of the time to catch up on other things. I hold him 90% of the time. If he is asleep somewhere other than my arms, I try to do as much as possible during that nap. I'm feeling good, but get major cabin fever at least once a week.
