So my CA DL had the world's greatest picture. I took it within a week of arriving home from my honeymoon. I was tan, thin, had a new haircut ... it was AWESOME!

I just got my photo taken for my WA license. The picture freakin' looks like they surprised me in the middle of eating a KFC Double-Down. Somehow I thrust my chin IN, quadrupling its numbers, and look vaguely befuddled.

I had the same issue. When i had my name changed i had to get a new pic and everyone told me my pic on my lic was amazing. Now it looks like crap and im all pale and gross looking. so great right? lol

Oh no! 

I still have my license from several years ago b/c it was seriously the cutest pic ever.  I was just back from a vacation, had a great Colgate smile going... the whole deal.  My more recent DL has the same problem.  I stepped into some seriously bad lighting, my hair is flat, WAY over-did the smile in an attempt to recapture the magic... it's tragic.  If I ever lose the baby weight I'm thinking one of these days I'm going to get my hair did and "lose" my DL so I can retake the picture.

LOL Yup, my newer one is awful compared to my one from 5 years ago. I look cross eyed. The older one looks a lot more like me. I show my older one unless someone notices it's outdated and I'm forced to show my newer one.

I had the opposite problem.  My first pic at 18 I was wearing my school uniform, had a really red face and my hair was like this huge white girl afro/mane thing.  

When I updated it at my last renewal it came out awesome!  Great hair, good make up and a great happy smile!

I think it alternates. My first one at 18 was great, my 2nd at 23 was awful, my 3rd at 28 was great my last one at 31 was awful.

I still have the same picture from when I took my test when I was 15!! I look like a baby. It's been almost 15 years. I don't know why I haven't been asked to come take a new picture...

That's weird. I had to when I changed my address a few times (not every time I've moved) and when I changed my name after getting married.

I liked the picture I took for my DL when I was either 19 or 20 which remained until I changed my name. My current picture is meh. I hated my first DL picture the most and was happy to get rid of it before I turned 21 because I didn't want to be flashing that picture when ordering a drink. I looked like someone told me shocking news and my hair was in its horrible naturally curly state.

I'm mostly okay with the one I have now. Except I was going through this weird phase with my bangs where I parted on the side and then curled them (they were kind of long). It's hard to explain, but it looks vaguely like muttonchops.
