Our desktop computer is starting to act up, so I think it's about time I buy something to back up everything that is on it. I have no idea where to start - can anyone suggest any particular brands?
TIA!!
Re: External Drive Rec?
I only use Western Digital myself. If you intend to carry the drive around with you (for work, etc.) get a PORTABLE hard drive...these just connect with a USB port. If it will be just sitting on your desktop as a backup drive, you can get an EXTERNAL drive, which generally also has to be plugged into the wall but have larger capacities.
Personally, since I work on the computer, I have TWO backup drives and I try to backup often.

I have a Seagate FreeAgent hard drive and love it. I have everything ever on it. Digital pics since I got my first camera in 1999, and there's not even a dent of memory used on it.
I find that they are really reliable, and nice and small. I carry it in my purse almost all of the time.
