Netflix on Wii

I have a Wii.  I have never done anything wireless on it.  I am assuming you have to buy something to get Netflix to download to the Wii.  Does anyone know what this is and how much it costs?  I am guessing that the wireless adaptor would also allow to download extra songs for Guitar Hero and more games.  Thanks

Re: Netflix on Wii

  • When it first came out on the wii, we got a disk from netflix to download onto the wii..

  • You do not need a disc any more. It's in the store on your Wii. All you need is your netflix login, an internet connection on your Wii, and access to a regular computer to give permission for the Wii to access your netflix. But you only need to give permission the first time. After that you can stream on to your Wii whenever you want to.

  • Our internet connection to plug in is in the room on the other side of the house.  I only do wireless in the room where the Wii is located.  Is there something I can plug into the Wii to give it a wireless connection to our router.  Thanks for the answers.
  • Your Wii does wireless as well. That's how mine is connected! You may experience a longer loading time and the potential of buffering delays because you are using WiFi over faster wired speeds. But you should be all set no matter what you use.

  • The Wii has built in wireless. There is a place in settings where you can set up your wireless connection. Netflix is $7.99 a month for just online viewing or $9.99 a month to also get the dvds mailed to you. And you get your first month free so you can decide if you like it before you have to pay for it. I just signed us up yesterday and I'm in love with it. I have AT&T Uverse internet and haven't experienced any problems with connection or anything like that. We have the app on both of our ipods and we have one of the wireless blu-ray players as well. Picture quality is great on all of them. Sorry kinda long winded, but hopefully this helps!

  • Thank you!   I just set up my wireless through my router.  I thought it would be much more difficult.
  • Netflix is $8/month for unlimited, instant rentals (via iPad/iPod/iPhone, Wii or computer).  If you want DVD rentals, it's an additional $2/month.
