vent about dad

im not sure if any of you remeber my post a long time ago about the problems before during and after my wedding.

well thing have not got any better. i have 2 children and we agreed that he & the kids could still have a relaninship. they seen him at halloween and 2 times over xmas break. he calls once in a blue moon to speak with them.

anyways my sons first basketball game was today. my father text me on thursday and asked when the first game was. i told a little white lie and told him it was next saturday. i just didnt want him and his wife there. i wanted to go any enjoy myself without feeling uncomfortable. the way i look at it is. he can see the kids but this was my family time. he is no longer a part of my family and is not welcome to do family activites with us.  oh yeah i forgot to tell you, his wife went behind my back and called the coach. he was not there and when he got into office he returned her call. he called back my MOM, they have the same name. my dad is remarried and they are both debbie H.......

my son and what we do with are family is no longer there business.am i wrong ???

he did not end up going to game, my mom stopped him. she told him for julian(my son) he should stay away and come when i am comfortable with it and not cause a bigger problem

Re: vent about dad

  • hmm...sorry you're having difficulty with family members.  That always blows.

Here's where you lost me though... right off the bat in the beginning you tell us that you agreed that your dad and your children would have a relationship.  But then you go on to say you don't want him or his wife to have anything to do with your family.

I can see how your dad might be confused.  He's getting mixed messages.  You can't have it both ways.  And I'm not telling you which way it should be-whether you should allow him to be a part of your lives or not - just that you should probably make a decision and stick to it.  Otherwise, you're going to run into issues like this.

  • yes i can see were im might have confused you, sorry was in a mad rant.

he can have a relanship with them if he chooses on his time. when it has to do with me and my kids he is not welcome to attend. i am not going to kiss his a**. if he wants to see them and do thing with them he will have to go out of his way. which might not happen cause i dont know if he knows how to do that ?????
