hey ladies,
i am looking for things do near and around BR. something kids friendly. i've looked at the museums, but have read some bad reviews. unless you guys have a different opinion, i would appreciate some feedback. looking for things to do tomorrow since it's a school and work holiday for DD and the hubs.
thanks!
Re: things to do
Is that the planetarium by the old state capitol? If so, I agree it's pretty nice but doesn't take that long to go through it. You could try the zoo, but it might be too cold for that. My brother and sister in law take their kids skating a lot in Denham Springs, they seem to enjoy that.
If you wanted to make a road trip, New Orleans has some good things. There is a children's museum and the Aquarium, Imax and Insectarium.
If you want to make a day out of it....
Downtown things to do:
from there head to LSU and stop at Magnolia mound and Mike's the tiger cage... oh also near LSU is the doll mansion.. (my personal favorite.. the hubs might not like it but your DD will)
or go to the zoo
you could also cross the bridge after downtown or the LSU stops and go to Port Allen to the West Baton Rouge Museum then you could even go to white castle to see Nottoway plantation
so if you cant tell i work in the tourism business and have taken the Seein Red class twice!!! LOL
there is actually A LOT to do in BR!!!! more than most people think!! even those of us who have lived here forever!!
