Seagate Replica Hard Drive
After reading the post below I know I do not want the external hard drive I got for Christmas. I've uninstalled it and wonder how can I be sure nothing is on it? It was plugged in for a few minutes and did not indicate files were being transferred. It is 2T drive but yet when I check to see what space is available on it indicates 1.81 total. Their tech support is gone for the weekend and I want to return it tomorrow. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Re: Seagate Replica Hard Drive
You should reformat the drive. The method varies depending on your operating system. However, most OS offer a security feature for formatting that can overwrite existing data multiple times to ensure it can't be recovered.
That all being said, I would ensure you can return it first. Most of the time stuff like that can't be returned if it works since the company would take a loss on it. Also, I'd check on reviews for it as well. I have an external drive from Western Digital, or something along those lines, and it has been great for my needs since day one without a problem. The hassle of returning it, if it works just fine right now, may be more problems than its worth.
