Which is the better option?

We currently get our milk and some dairy products delivered, but I just found a new option and I'm debating. WWYD?

#1 - reusable plastic containers, great local milk (hormone and antibiotic free), amazing natural cheese (but it's from WI, not local), the rest of the options (eggs, yogurt, bread, butter, etc) aren't local.

#2 -  local milk and dairy products (milk, cream, yogurt, eggs, beef), can't tell where the cheese if from (it's labeled from a local store, but I thought they were just importers), non-reusable containers.

I'm torn. We're currently with #1, but I love that #2 has so many local products. However I can't get over that #2 doesn't use reusable containers.

Re: Which is the better option?

  • IMO, I'd go with option 1. Milk is a huge thing for me- especially the reusable containers... I'm wondering if you could find a local farmer who has chickens...? And I like home-made bread better than store bought... I don't know though, the more I look at the local beef, cream, yogurt etc the more I see why you're torn.. :-/

  • I haven't even tried the milk from #2, so it might not be an option (I'm picky). Obviously I can get all of the items local if I try, I just really like the option of having it delivered to me all at one time.

  • Did you look at Longmont dairy? Ithink they have more local stuff than royaL crest and use glass bottles.

Yes we have, their milk and cheese is more expensive so I don't really want to make that change.

It's http://www.diamondddairy.com/home.php. I know nothing about them other than what I've read online. I was just starting my research :)
