IHO our newbie and Ginger, PIP your china

If you don't have a pattern, PIP a pattern you'd like to have.  Or if you're inheriting some day, show that.

Do you still like what you chose?

Mine is Waterford Newgrange Platinum.  I like it, but it's a little plain.

  • Oops - my PIP is not working...  sorry.  I have Wedgwood's "Nature" pattern  (very white with raised leaf design) and I still LOVE it.  Only use it for holidays though.

    :)

  • bummer... I can't figure out to PIP from a pic I grabbed from the internet...

so here is the link of my pattern.

Funny story: When I graduated from college and got my first apt. one of I wanted to get started on my china pattern. So I went looking and I decided on this pattern. I knew it was one of the signature lines for Lenox, so no chance of them stopping the pattern, plus I thought it was classic and simple. My mother could not understand why I wanted my own china... "That's something that your wife should pick out." Ummm... Mom... I don't think there is going to be a wife... I'm 22 and I'm picking out my own china, clue 328 that I'm gay. ; )

  • I love all three of the patterns that you posted. It's interesting how different they all are. I should try to use my china more often.

  • I have Noritake Crestwood Platinum:

I still like it, but I would love a huge collection of different types of dishes.  Right now I only have my regular every day plates (simple ivory dishes), the Noritake, and then a set with pink flowers (seen below):

Thank you!  Love the Lenox too - that is a funny story :)

I think... I would use more formal china if I had a china cabinet to display it in near our kitchen/dining room. We have been waiting to buy more furniture for budget/style reasons and I have 16 place settings that I keep in boxes in a closet under our stairs.   Its a shame - they only come out for the holidays.

  • Here's wejustwant2's:

    Here's Ginger's:

Ginger, do you know if yours is the exact same as Solitaire, just that Solitaire is the name for the platinum band?  Or are they slightly different somehow?

  • I worked for Lenox a few years ago.  Eternal and Solitaire use the same type of china (cream) but have different rims.  Eternal has a gold rim while Solitaire has a platinum rim.

My china is Wedgewood's Seville Pattern.  Royal Blue is my favorite color.  I can't wait to refinish our dining room with pale yellow walls and blue trim.

  • I LOVE the one with the gold rim.  My parents currently have in their basement a set I'm dying to get my hands on that looks similar and was my grandmothers (might have been passed down to her even).  The buffet my parents have has no windows... hence the china is in the basement closet.  I have two charming built-ins at the corners of my dining room that are currently holding stemware and serving pieces I got for my wedding but would look much better with the china in them. :)  I also entertain much more than my parents... but I'm not sure my parties are tame enough to use the china yet anyhow! haha  It would probably only come out for holidays at my place too.

I love seeing everyone's pics!  Kind of makes me wish I had registered for china at my wedding.  Too bad I didn't realize I'd have the built-ins when I registered!

  • Lenox Opal Innocence- the original one, they have several variations now.

With enameled pearl-like dots, an opalescent background, and the innocence of white china, this is a romantic pattern of understated elegance. Two bands of platinum - a slightly wider one on the rim, kissing a thin fluted design, and a narrower one inside the border - adorn each plate. Each piece is decorated with a flowing, white-on-white vine design peppered with enamel dots.

Can't get a good detail picture.

Mine is Rothschild by Noritake.  I think it may be discontinued now, but I've been married for 10 years. I picked out this pattern when I was a little girl and DH loved it too, so we went with it.
