Boss on vacation = no motivation for me. Seriously, I haven't done much work today. I need to find something to do this afternoon or else it's going to go by uber slow.
I just got back from a friend's ultrasound appointment.
Wow.
The baby still looks a bit freaky and alien-ish (11 weeks), but it had little arms and legs....and it kept swimming like crazy! I couldn't believe how much it swam (do they swim??)!
And we saw the little heartbeat...just a quick flicker on the screen.
It was magical. I could have watched that little baby swim all day

It depends.
We have an in-service-type thing today AND next Tuesday. From 1 to 5 p.m. UGH. First of all, I usually only work until 3 on Tuesdays, so the extra two hours is going to be torturous. Second, I can't imagine what they could possibly have to say that would fill four hours today, not to mention four hours NEXT WEEK TOO!

I'm home on lunch to let the delivery guys in...our media center is here!!! Thank goodness the rug and "art" doesn't come with it!
I was supposed to have lunch with someone today, but he stood me up.

Today Ben ASKED to take a nap. And just wanted to lay down in his crib, I sat in the rocking chair with my laptop and 10 minutes later he is fast asleep. It's a miracle!

I have never been to a meditation class, but we do medititation sometimes in my yoga classes. I'm terrible at it. My mind wanders way too easily.

I loved it, and I generally don't like historical fiction type stuff. What didn't you like about it?

***slight spoilers, not really more my opinion on the book. But still I wanted to warn anyone who might want to read this****
I didn't like his choice for a narrator. Also I wanted more. I wanted to feel sadder, sicker to my stomach. Given what the plot is and what I know about that time I wanted it to really touch a nerve inside me.
Gotcha. I guess I could agree that I expected it to be more gut-wrenching but MAN did I sob like a baby still haha.

Mira, I'm typically a pretty slow reader but I read GWTW quite quickly. It's about the same length as Vanity Fair, but where it took me about three months to get through Vanity Fair, I finished GWTW in closer to one month. I think it's a relatively quick read for a long book. But it does have a lot of pages though (obviously), so it may slow you down some.
Done
