Hi new here! Help w/Toy Story 3rd Bday Party

So I think I am all set as far as deco's, cake (I make cakes), and favors, and even games.

Now I am trying to come up with foods (kid/adult friendly) to go w/the characters from the movie.

I was thinking of apps like "Hamm" in a Blanket (pigs in a blanket)

"Rex's" Dinosaur Deviled Eggs

"Alien" green punch

But I am stumped on main foods. Any ideas?  Thanks!

Re: Hi new here! Help w/Toy Story 3rd Bday Party

  • My standard answer: I'd rather eat good food than food that has funny names.  You've got enough of a theme with everything else.  Use the names you have, but get some good food that goes together for the rest.
  • I'd decide on the menu and then come up with names (which is likely what I'll end up doing for the Twilight party I posted about a few days ago).

For example, if you decided to do chili, you could call it "Woody & Jessie's Western Chili." Or anything you make could be "Buzz's Out-Of-This-World [Insert Food Name Here]." The Potato Heads could be used for potato salad, fries, tator-tots, potato skins...lots of things.

  • Pizza is always a hit with kids.  I don't remember which sequel Pizza Planet debut in - but you can use that as a theme...also Tyson makes dinosaur nuggets.

  • I am hosting a similar party for my soon to be 3 year old son and have not been feeling the creative juices flowing.  I think the 3 snow storms we have had this week alone have not put me in the party planning mood.  I love your food ideas.  We are having family only (most adults) so I am going to try and focus more on the food rather than games, but would love to hear your other ideas for decorations.  I don't know if you want hot dogs if you are doing pigs in a blanket, but you could somehow reference them as slinky dogs, like the weiner dog in the movie?
