another day at home
Well, between the MLK day off and now the ice, I am feeling a bit spoiled. I am going to try to do my lesson plans for next week, even though I didn't even teach all of last week's lessons due to the snow day. I am also going to bake some homemade chocolate chip cookies. I have found I love making cookies now that I got so many fun gadgets from the bridal shower.
What is everyone else up to?

I was off yesterday as well and "off" today. I say "off" because I'm actually working from home b/c of the weather, but at least I don't have to get all dressed up and such to go into work. I'm still in my PJs...yay!!!
Obviously, im going to be working today. But i also need to do a few loads of laundry, do the dishes, fill the dishwasher, and clean some old stuff out of the fridge. Something is smelly in there and I thought i was being really diligent about throwing out old stuff but I guess i've missed something!
Maybe if i'm feeling really nice i'll make some biscuits today. I've been wanting to

So jealous. I'm at work today. Thankfully it didn't take me too long to get in this morning cause I left wicked early - but for some of my coworkers it took them 2 hours to get in! I actually didn't even think we were supposed to get much more than a dusting of snow....I haven't been to the window to check accumulation but it's been snowing steadily all morning.
Being off yesterday sure was nice though!

We have a lot of rain at the moment. The roads aren't bad, but sidewalks are very icy. I'm sure tonight will be a fun ride home when the temp drops and everything freezes. No matter what I have to be a work.
Good thing about the ice in healthcare.. more patients. (oh that's a horrible joke)
Nothing fancy, just stuff I did not have before. My mixer, the wire cookie racks for cooling, and just having more space is making cooking and baking more fun.

I am starting to feel unemployed and cabin fever with all these snow days. I am ready for spring now. I feel like I have done nothing with these snow days over the last week but be lazy and eat and watch lifetime.. but actually I have been pretty productive:
- wrote and finished my rough draft of my TEAM reflection paper, began proofreading it, did some lesson planning for 3 out of 5 classes for the next three weeks, created my formal observation lesson and write up, midterm review sheets and study guides, unit plan, clean thoroughly each room in the apt, and Actually I have also been exercising for two hours a day with all this extra time too!
Now I am off to do laundry, exercise, dust, and vaccuum again, and probably bake when I am out of things to keep busy!
I was off last night, but have to go back in to work toinght and tomorrow night. Boo.
I cannot figure this out but for some reason I am immensely more productive during the day before going in to work than I am on my days off. I've gone grocery shopping, made my lunch for tonight and prepared a dinner for DH... all he has to do is put it in the oven. I did laundry, cleaned the house up, and made a little goody bag for DH's trip back to Cali (he leaves again tomorrow
) All while I should be sleeping. I wish nurses got snow days so I could spend one last night tonight with DH and take him to the airport tomorrow morning. Instead I'll be slaving away in the MICU!
Today our district was off school, but teachers had a grading day so I still had to go in for a little while at least. But it was nice because I got to wear jeans and do some more planning for the rest of my student teaching this year.
It's just rainy here. No snow. That's good, though, I'm kind of sick of it.
