Random diaper bag question
Hey moms, I have a question for you....We have a diaper bag that we got at one of my showers. Do you think we need another one for H to carry around? The one we have is black so he is not opposed to taking it out when when is alone with LO. One should be good, right? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am full of them lately! I seem to have an inability to think straight or even do simple math these days, lol! As far as making decisions go, I have been pretty useless, too!
Re: Random diaper bag question
I have one dark brown bag that H and I use.
Kel is right about daycare - you're going to need a bag you can leave there. However, since you're taking mostly bottles/food and occasionally diapers/wipes, any old tote bag will work. I've used the Publix reusable green bags, or old tote bags from college. Also, you will get several insulated bags from the hospital/your pedi full of samples, so those are what I use on a regular basis for daycare.
I didn't have a bag for me and one for H, but I did have multiple diaper bags just to switch out so I didn't get bored of dragging the same one around. I got sick of them very quickly.
I didn't do daycare, so I didn't have to think about that, but the issue of carrying a diaper bag and a purse, I went down to a small clutch to carry my ID/cards/money, phone and keys, which I could tuck into the diaper bag, but then if I was leaving him somewhere with the bag, I could easily just pull out the clutch.
I definitely agree with the daycare thing, if you're doing daycare. I don't have kids, but I worked in a daycare and it was so much easier if the parents had a separate bag that they left in the class room. If they had one that they were taking home every night, inevitably something would get left at home and of course that's what I would need the next day.
My best friend got a pink and brown diaper bag for their daughter that was just born and she was only going to use that one. But someone else got her another one for her shower and it was more neutral so she decided to keep it just in case she needed an extra one or if her husband refused to carry the 'girlie' one, lol.
I downsized to a small purse when Alana was born. So anytime we go out I can just put my smaller purse inside the diaper bag. Sometimes I use a clutch also just to carry my necessities, but when we go into a store I just like to throw something over my shoulder and a clutch doesn't work.
I do like the other suggestions about a daycare bag. My Mom watches Alana part-time so I just give her my Juicy bag, but if I were sending her to daycare, I wouldn't want to do that.
