I need your advice ladies! DH and I have been going back and forth on this issue and I need to make a decision ASAP!
DS is still in his crib and does not try to climb out. We are moving him to a different bedroom and a good friend gave me a new twin bed because they just got bunk beds. Should we attempt to switch him to the bed when we move him in two weeks to the new room or do we move the crib with him? My sister said we can use her crib for baby "dos", so we don't have to kick him out of his crib.
What do you think?
What are you ladies with baby 2 on the way doing?

I just ordered Owen's bed yesterday. We'll be transitioning him as soon as it arrives. He doesn't climb out either, and he sleeps really well in the crib, but I think it's time. He's almost two, he naps in a bed, he likes to have a pillow, etc., so I think he'll like it after the initial transition worry.
I don't want to buy a second crib -- it seems like such a waste of money for something that's used so briefly -- but I don't want to transition him after she's born because I don't want him to "blame" her for the change. We're going to make it a new fun exciting thing for him and give him time to adjust before she arrives. (Admittedly, we're cutting it close. I wanted to do it immediately after the holidays but I ran into problems with the original bed I was going to buy.)
I've ordered the basic daybed from here, with the idea that the two kids (who will be sharing a room) will each have one, and we'll either bunk them eventually, or give them both lofts. My intention is that these are the beds they'll sleep in until college!
