internet

hello ladies, i am new on this board but thought maybe yall could help. i recently moved to the country (rural area) and have been having problems with finding a provider for internet.

anyone have someone they use and like?

Re: internet

  • It won't matter much if they don't offer service in your area. And if it's really rural, chances are you only have one or two choices available to you. It would be easier for you to find out what services are available there and go from there than to get recommendation for a dozen companies that don't work where you live. Start with the local phone company, cable company, and ask neighbors who they use.

  • Try to see if you can get your local WiFi if a service is offered through your county. You may have to live so close to the tower but it's worth a shot. That's what we have to use...it's our only option.

  • H's family lives out in the middle of nowhere and they don't have many options for internet either.  SIL has been using one of the Verizon USB modems.  I know she doesn't 100% love it, but that's her best option so she makes it work.

You might also try posting this on the local LA board where more people could recommend providers in your area.
