POLL: What kind of swimsuit?

okay, we leave for mexico next week and i am stressing about my swimsuit options. i'm just curious what you all wear for lounging on the beach.

I always bring several swimsuits on vacation, usually a bikini and a tankini.  Then I just put on whatever I feel like wearing that day.

I've only been on the beach in Mexico once (on our honeymoon) and I wore bikinis.  I'm usually not a bikini type girl, but I figured in Mexico I didn't know anyone except my husband, so why not wear a bikini?  When we go to H's lake house, I only wear tankinis.  When there, we are around H's family and I'm not comfortable in bikinis around anyone buy my husband.  But I'd say, wear what you're comfortable in!

I wear bikinis for lounging because that is what I'm most comfortable in.  I agree with pp, you should really wear what you're comfortable in.  As long as you wear it with confidence, I'm sure you'll look great.  If you feel awkward in it, it won't look good.

I usually wear bikinis because that's what I'm comfortable in. I feel like tankinis draw attention to the least toned part of my stomach, since that's all that shows. If I didn't want to wear a bikini, I'd probaly get ancute retro-style one piece swimsuit.

I do not wear swimsuits. period. I wear shorts and a t-shirt.

I voted for Tankini - I'm not a skinny-mini so it lets me flaunt the good parts and conceal the not so great ones.  Totally work the cleavage and my fave tankini has a skirted bottom which covers some of the leg issues I have.  Works for my body type but might not work for all.

I just got back from Mexico.  I brought a tankini and a bikini and ended up in the bikini most days.  I also picked up a few cute cover-ups at Target before we left and threw one of those on if I was going to be walking around.

I can't remember the last time I wore a swimsuit. This is one reason why I don't take beach vacations :-)

But, if I was to go on a beach vacation, and if I was not so horrified by my huge a$$ that I could actually bring myself to be seen a bathing suit, I would probably wear a bikini. Seems like that would be the thing to do in such an environment.
