life insurance

We want to look into life insurance....any tips/advice/guidence? We have no clue where to start!!

Re: life insurance

  • Yes.  You should speak to someone like a financial advisor about it.  My aunt works for one.  Edward Jones is the name of the company and they have offices all over RI.  There are a lot of options and the F.A. can explain them all and suggest the best option for you.  You can also decide the frequency of your payments and he can calculate an appropriate amount of coverage based on your home, the cost of college when your child(ren) will attend, etc.  Its really interesting.  Send me an email at kelly dot memoli at gmail dot com if you want the contact info for her particular office.
  • I agree, a financial advisor would be able to help you. We use Karen Melo at Ocean State Financial in East Providence. She was great at explaining everything. She did suggest we insure ourselves for more than we felt we needed, so just figure out how much you want before you buy a policy.

  • We recently worked with a rep from NY Life and were really pleased with everything.  He totally worked with what we need and how much we can afford.  Let me know if you want any contact #'s, I'd be happy to pass along another option for you.

  • A friend of ours is an agent, he sells all kinds. We opted to go with one of the newer kinds that we get our money back if we are still alive when the policy ends.   Every penny that goes in comes back.  It's a win win

Let me know if you'd like his info
