Furniture Stores

We are moving to a much bigger apt and are in desperate need of all new furniture. When we got the stuff we have (10 years old) we didn't live in the city. Anyone have any suggestions on the best places to find furniture? We don't have a car so somewhere near the subway would be best (or online suggestions)

Re: Furniture Stores

  • It depends a lot on how much you want to spend...for some things, IKEA is great (bookshelves, etc) but I'm not a huge fan of their couches or beds unless you really need a deal.  Depending on your price point there are Jennifer's (couches) all over the place, one is on 3rd Ave just south of 14th St near Union Square or there's a Raymore and Flannagin (sp?) across from the Trader Joe's in Union Square.  If you need a new bed there are Sleepy's also all over, you can get exact locations on their website.  There's a Gotham Cabinent Craft (solid bookshelves, dressers, etc) on 2nd or 3rd Ave around 12th St.
