Back From Disney World

We had such a great time on our anniversary trip, but the trip was way too short and we are so exhausted. We did 6 parks in 3 days... I still can't believe it. I slept until 2 today haha... oops. We had amazing weather 2 out of the 3 days, one of the days it rained but it wasn't too bad... especially compared to the snow in NY! It was awesome to wear short sleeves and no jacket!!!

Re: Back From Disney World

  • I hope you rode Snow White's Scary Adventures one last time before it's gone forever!  Also I blogged about your blog post about Disney yesterday, go check it out.

  • That ride is super scary LOL... I would take my children on the haunted mansion before that ride hahahaha!

  • That's so awesome!  I'm glad you guys had a great time :)  We've been having great weather down here, though I'm upset it's so hot!  It was 85 today where I am!

  • It looks like you had fun!  Let me ask, since both you Disney lovers are in the thread - what makes it so special/awesome?  I haven't been in nearly 20 years (that just made me feel crazy old - I'm not, I swear!) and I barely remember it...sell me on Disney!  What makes people so crazy about it?

I love the atmosphere. You literally feel like you are in another world. We love the rides and the characters and we LOVE the restaurants. Everything is 'have a magical day,' your days end with fireworks, I dunno, it's just special. It's nonstop fun and everything is beautiful. If you stay on property you are just surrounded by disney everything. If you stay off property you aren't surrounded by it nearly as much, but it's still fun. Lately we've been staying on property and loving it. We're very selective where we stay on property because we don't like to be surrounded by screaming children lol. We've also eaten at some of the most romantic restaurants here!

Ditto what bellebride said, I think it's the atmosphere and the fact that you're having fun literally all day.  There's more about it that make people crazy, but it's hard to say specifically what.  There's definitely a feeling you get when you're there.  I tear up a little every time I step onto Main St. USA in Magic Kingdom.  I don't have anything negative associated with the place.

You can go and just be a kid.  No one bats an eye at a grown adults posing for pictures with characters.

And there are experiences there you can't have anywhere else.  I'm sure Test Track isn't anything like testing a car IRL, but it's the closest I'll ever get.  And Soarin is just an awesome ride.

Anyway, Noron, I think you just have GO and experience it for yourself.  It's addictive.

Mmmmk, it sounds kind of amazing. You guys should work for Disney!

It was always a place we knew we wanted to take our kids one day (more than a few times, I think) but I guess I never really thought of it as an adult...?  I DO know it's supposed to be, like, THE cleanest place EVER which is intriguing to me (as someone that lives in a dirty-ish big city). And I freaking LOVE roller coasters, so that would be awesome...hmmm, another vacation to ponder!

They should pay me for the amount of times I recommend it to people LOL. But yeah, you should totally go! And there's other parks not on disney prop but nearby too, like Universal. We went to Islands of Adventure and visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it was amazing!

  • Go once before you have the kids.  It's nice to experience everything without a kid tugging at your arm (I imagine) and kids get bored sometimes at Epcot, so it's nice to take time without kids to spend some time there.  Good example: The Land ride.  It takes you through hydroponics. As a kid I HATED it.  I would go so pissed that parents would make us ride it, but now it's one of my favorites.

SAME! I LOVE that ride.  I agree, you HAVE to go once before you have kids. If we have kids one day and go I know we will never hit all the places/rides we've done. Ever.

  • omg I'm almost in pain with how badly I want to go back to Disney before we have kids. DH has never been, and I went once when I was 12, and it was just so freakin magical. Like, unreal.

omg. researching might be what I'm going to do today haha.

I love to get on the Disney website and "research" trips.  It's fun to go through all the hotels, see what the have to offer, and you can  also find descriptions of all the restaurants and rides.  Sometimes I even go on YouTube and watch other people's videos of rides.  Oh, it's lame, but at least I admit it.
