Restaurants for Birthday

I need help! DH and I are planning to go out for my birthday this weekend but we dont know where to go! We have a "just in case" reservation at the Melting Pot, but we've been there many times so Im hoping to find a different, new to us, place to try. Any recs? We're in Mechanicsburg so something in the Harrisburg area would be best for us. Im most interested in Sushi/japanese but I can be persuaded otherwise. Thanks!

  • have you been to black and bleu on the carlisle pike? delicious.

mikado is good for sushi and hibachi.

i also like Sapporo East on the pike for sushi. its BYOB. i was just there last week and i had their special TNT roll- batter fried tuna roll topped with white fish, wasabi sauce, and mango. seriously awesome.

if you want something downtown i'm a fan of cafe fresco and bricco.

i know its a little far but i'm also a fan of houlihan's in hershey and i've heard good things about devon.

  • I'm not a fan of black and bleu. I'd go to Cafe Fresco, Firehouse or Bricco downtown. There's a good hibachi restaurant on Linglestwon near dunkin donuts. I can't remember the name. It's BYOB and not super fancy but the food was good.

  • Happy Birthday!  I'm pretty new to the area myself, but I've heard good things about Firehouse too.  I'll have to remember Devon, DH and I LOVE seafood!

its funny that you feel this way because B&B and Firehouse are owned by the same people haha.

  • Thanks for the birthday wishes and restaurant ideas. We ended up keeping our Melting Pot reservation but Im keeping all these ideas for future Date Nights (I can always lure DH with good food). Ive already been to a few, like Black n Bleu (which DH and I really like even though it got mixed reviews here) and Firehouse but now Im dying to try these other places! Devon especially. We lived a couple miles outside of Philly for over seven years and somehow I never made it there, I guess Ill have to try the one in Hershey instead!
