Need the help of the locals....
My husband and I are planning a trip to the Charleston area in the middle of October. I was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere to stay. I would prefer to stay in a B&B around the area but I?m open to a little rental cottage and as a last resort a hotel. Also what are some of the more popular things to do around the area in October or places to visit? TIA

do you want to stay downtown?
Downtown: Two Meeting Street Inn, 27 State Street B&B, Meeting Street Inn are a few different choices.
Mount Pleasant: The Inn at Ion.

I don't care if we stary downtown or in an area around town. I'm sure that we will either get a car or drive our own.
