need party ideas

My daughter wants to do a home birthday pajama party this year instead of a pool party at a hotel.  She will be 13.  So of course we will have a pizza party, tons of pop, juice, popcorn, movies, etc....

But I would like to do a thank you gift for the girls.  What do you think would work?  Throw ANY ideas at me wether I buy them or make them.

Also, another thought is I would like to have something set up that they can do some crafting stuff.  I have tons of scrapbook stuff, jewelry making stuff, but of course, sewing stuff would be out since I don't want them using my machine.   Should I do this or at 13 do you think they would rather just hang out??

Although the pool party is more expensive, it's EASY entertainment!  lol

Re: need party ideas

  • I just read in an e-mail about a "Top Chef Party".  Maybe they could assemble their own little pizzas from an ingredient buffet and you can bake them?  That could be fun.  You can get pre-made pizza crusts that would make it easy-peasy.

I'm not sure about the crafts.  I would have liked that at 13 but I don't know about everyone...

  • LOVE a pizza bar idea!!!  I think I will do some cupcakes also, but have the girls decorate their own cupcakes.

I was thinking of a scrapbook where each of the girls decorate their own guest page.  A birthday not to Skylar, sign it and when we develop pictures, we will add it on their pages.  Plus I can have extra pages they can do for the rest of the party.  (pizza, cupcakes, games, family, movie time, etc...)

I thought about a paint the tshirt thing...

For favors I was thinking of a nail care set with a polish in a cutsie little bag for each one.
