Anyone live in Portland, OR?

I'm trying to help a friend who is moving there - want to find the best green-minded blogs and websites.  Also would love to hear about any good activist groups that really make a difference.  My friend is single so she wants to meet some like minded people!  Any information you can offer is appreciated!  Will XP on the Portland board too.

  • I'm in the Portland area. Definitely check out the local board for some blogs. When is she moving?

  • The Metro regional government has good green living resources on their website, including green cleaners, recycling centers, etc.

The Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) is a very active. There's also Columbia River Keepers, Friends of Trees, 1000 Friends of Oregon. There are a lot of groups, actually. Depends on your friends' focus.
