Green living groups / blogs?
Hi ladies - I'm trying to help a friend who is moving there - want to find the best green-minded blogs and websites. Also would love to hear about any good activist groups that really make a difference. My friend is single so she wants to meet some like minded people! Any information you can offer is appreciated! Thanks so much!
Re: Green living groups / blogs?
I'm sort of confused by your request. Your friend is moving to Portland? The sustainability blogs are Portland-focused or just sustainability-focused? I'm going to make the assumption, since she's moving here, that you're looking for sustainability resources in PDX.
Green Drinks meets every month. It's a collection of people working in the field that meet to network.
Bonneville Environmental Foundation is local organization and does a lot of stuff, primarily in the energy sector.
The Natural Step is a well-respected organization.
The City of Portland has the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability.
The Green Professionals Conference is coming up in the next month or so. Inspiring discussions, networking, etc.
Really, there is so much in the way of sustainability in this city. Green Drinks might be a good place to start and a chance to meet a lot of people doing a lot of different things.
Other, not necessarily PDX-based blogs are:

inhabitat.com
