anyone who made their own re-usable "paper" towels ...
What fabric did you use? Do you think fleece would work (I know some people use it for CDs)? For fabric, I only have a Wal-Mart near me with a limited selection, or I have to drive an hour to hobby-lobby / jo-anns. So I'm hoping they'd be usable with a fabric I can find at Wal-Mart!
TIA!
Re: anyone who made their own re-usable "paper" towels ...
I used fleece on one side and terry cloth (is that the bath towel material?) on the other side. I don't really like the fleece side - it isn't absorbent at all and isn't getting better with washings. I love the terry side.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.

Old towels (or get some old towels from the second hand store).
We don't care about looks, so most of my cleaning rags are socks DH decided he hated a couple years ago. Double thick terry cloth = great for cleaning and absorbing spills.

We use old t-shirts for ours. They work great and it's nice to be able to see those shirts I am emotionally attached to, but are waaaay to tacky to actually wear.
: )
I used "handkerchief" linen that I purchased to make handkerchiefs, but found to be too thick for that application. I mostly use them for pressing tofu and other things where I wanted a really thin towel like a paper towel. I use regular kitchen towels and rag towels (old regular kitchen towels) for most things.
My sister says she uses felt for stuff like this, which I'd like to try someday.
