  • Congrats to you 2 as well, what are some things you and your husband like to do around town, we don't have any other friends our age (early 20's) that are married, can you pass any good ideas along as to how to have fun on our days off?

  • Sorry for the delay in response.  We actually do a lot of stuff in the Richmond area, don't know if that is too far for you.  I am very active in sports - joined River City Social as well as SportsQuest Social Sports (probably lots closer to you).  My husband and I love to hike so when the weather is better, we drive out to the mountains for either a day hike or overnight backpack trip.  He likes to fish and out friend has a boat.  We also love to eat, so we love to sample different restaurants around the area.  Did you two just move here?

  • Hi! My H and I got married last April and live in Henrico County (far west end, near Short Pump).

All of our friends live back where we grew up (Yorktown) so we actually are on our own most of the time. When the weather is nice we like to go to the parks in the area, kayak on the James and camp all over the state. During the winter we pretty much hibernate unless we go out some where to eat.

  • Hey! I too live in chesterfield. I am not a newlywed yet, but FH and I are getting married in May. We really do not do much, ecspecially in the Cold months. It would be nice to figure out more things to do in this area that does not involve a lot of money.

  • we actually both grew up in the colonial heights/chester area, but we just get tired of not having anything to do but go out to eat.  some of our friends that are not married like to go to the clubs downtown, but my husband, lee, isn't into the dancing thing.  i like the hiking idea, we rented bikes and went riding on our honeymoon, i think that he might like to do that again on some of the trails your talking about.

  • Check with Chesterfield Parks and Rec they offer a lot of activities pretty cheap.

Chesterfield Adult Sports can get you into some sort of league if you want to play sports.  My husband and I both play on one of their leagues.  http://chesterfieldadultsports.com/

My friends and I do hiking in the mountains and around Richmond.  A lot of parks around have walking trails.  Pocahontas State Park has some great activities.

Until you are happy with who you are, you will never be happy with what you have.
