I've been out of the office since Thursday because T has been very sick. He was getting better on Saturday and seemed to be back to normal yesterday, but last night he broke out in hives and wouldn't (couldn't?) sleep. He was up all night, screaming.
Mike is staying home with him today.
I'm exhausted.
Re: Monday, Monday
<---------------------- I lost my profile picture. *tear*
In the process of trying to change my sig pic, I deleted my profile pic -- because I'm dumb like that. And I can't find the original saved anywhere.
I feel like I've lost a part of my nestie identity. I suck.
Aww, Molly! Poor guy! I bet you are tired
Kasa, that sucks! I hope you find the original file!
I am meeting with a trainer in an hour....I need to lose about 70 pounds. That number sounds sooo big! I carry the weight incredibly well (so I'm told) but I want to be much much much less.

I really think that it's the weather....I really do. I know I look outside and see all that cold and snow and think "meh....not gonna happen..."

I am freezing at wk. BTW do not rent Dinner for Schmucks. It was so stupid.
I'm sorry T is sick
We have had a nasty virus for 2 weeks now and it is the pits!
Kasa, now I have to look at your name to know it's you - weird! Find it ASAP!
GL with the trainer Amaretto. I wish I had your motivation!
We went to the Griffins game Saturday night and the entertainment between periods were some inflatable animals made to mock sports stars - called Zooper stars or something. It was so stupid, but also hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
Did you take Ben with you?
Oh yeah - he LOVES the hockey games! DH gets free iickets through work pretty often. Ben claps and cheers and yells "hockey!" the whole time haha.
Ugh, it IS the pits! We ended up in the ER on Wednesday night with a temp of 105.2. They gave him antibiotics through his IV (he was dehydrated as well.)
I just want this to go away. I want my happy, healthy little boy back!
In the past 1.5 weeks, he's had pink eye, ear infection, viral infection and now hives and crying/screaming/not sleeping. I don't think he can take much more. Or me.
Oh that is terrible
Hopefully the worst is over and he is on his way to feeling better soon!
Sorry T has been sick D&M. Hopefully some relief is on the way!
Congrats on starting your weight loss Amaretto! Be sure and set small goals too - that's a big number and it can seem daunting, focus on day by day or week by week and it won't seem so scary.
Freeburger - we were at the game too and I loved the blow up guys. Bobby Orrangutang? Mario LeMule? I love me some good puns.
We watched The Social Network yesterday. I thought it was a good and interesting movie, but I didn't think of it as something that would be award winning necessarily. Well done, but not exceptional.
I just officially fell in love with Ben.
I know! I felt silly for being so amused by those things, but how can you not laugh at something like that!
Thanks for the review of The Social Network. I never rent movies, but when it comes to HBO or whatever I will look for it
Haha, he is his fathers child - he loves sports of any kind but especially hockey. He walks around all the time saying "hockey game?" lol.
Oh no! I didn't realize it was that bad! I'm sorry you guys are going through this! Any ideas as to what it is yet?
ER doc said viral infection for the 105.2 temp and most people are saying the hives are from the antibiotics. No idea what is causing the crying/screaming/not sleeping.
Oh, I have to give a recipe rave. We made this last night, and loved it. It's ridiculously easy (throw stuff in pot, let it simmer for awhile, eat it), the ingredients are cheap and the nutritionals are excellent.
Vegetable Barley Soup
I found the movie to be a fascinating character study. After watching it, I would love to meet Mark Z. in person and analyze him further. I'm a dork.
Oooh I just bought some barley last week and planned to do something with it, so this sounds perfect! thanks for sharing.
His character in the movie is interesting (and extremely well acted). But honestly, his personality seemed to fit in line with a stereotype of a highly intelligent guy - socially akward, conceited yet unsure of himself so he's a *** to people as a self-defense mechanism (hurt them before getting hurt) - nothing new there. I loved the witty banter of the movie and the "story" of FB's first year was very interesting - I do wonder what was fiction and what was fact in the movie.
I felt the same way about Mark Z. and the movie in general. I enjoyed the movie, as well. I loved the dialogue in the opening scene.
Brian mocks me so bad because I LOVE the Zooperstars. I would make him take me to the Whitecaps game when they were there. I have discovered you have to be with a "fun" group though, otherwise you feel like an idiot when you are laughing so hard that you are crying and the other people in the group have a strange look on their face. The best is when you go with someone with a really funny laugh.
Hope you get some sleep tonight.
True, but what I find interesting about MZ is that despite his outward social awkwardness, he KNOWS people. He knows what makes them tick and what gets them interested. He's an awkward guy but he was able to put together this website that appeals to millions of people of all different ages. He might not be able to interact normally in person, but that didn't stop him from creating a universal method of interaction.
In regards to the fact vs. fiction, I read the Time "Person of the Year" article about MZ after the movie because I was curious about the same thing. The article is HUGE and a good read, but what was frustrating to me was that it doesn't mention any of the people or events in the movie at all. So now I am even more curious!
Interesting point, about the social akwardness but yet understanding human interaction/emotion enough to build FB. I hadn't thought of it that way, and that is kind of fascinating.
On a completely unrelated note, that reminds me of a movie I heard of I want to see, Temple Gradin, the true story of an autistic woman (so difficulty interacting with humans/understanding and displaying emotions) that completely understands animal emotions and helped change how livestock are handled by "knowing" what cows feel.
Back to TSN, I also saw on CNN.com that Sean Parker said it was a complete work of fiction. But he was portrayed as a *** so I guess that's expected.
