PLEASE HELP - where to live????
Re: PLEASE HELP - where to live????
Are you open to the north shore ? We only considered north shore bc the commuting is so easy compared to the south and west. Where we live we can take 95, route 1, route 28, or 93 to get into the city. Cambridge is an easy commute for us. On weekends we are into the city in 10 minutes. For the criteria you mentioned I would look into Reading, North Reading and possibly Wilmington. When we bought this spring there was land available in Wilmington and it is more rural. Coming closer to the city in Wakefield, Melrose and Stoneham you could get a great house for 750k with a garage, but you will not get a ton of acres... If having a large amount of land is also important, check out reading, north reading and wilmington-they would give DH anywhere from a 40-60 minute commute if he drives in rush hour, or a 20-30 minu commute if he is on the road by 6:15. As all PPs mentioned it will require compromise which is not fun when you are used to a lot of space. I understand since we went through it when we moved to Boston from a low cost of living area. You will be suprised how happy you can be without all the extra space. The conveniences make up for it IMO.
