No meat @ Taco Bell

Did anyone see this?  Apparently Taco Bell is getting sued over calling their meat, "meat" b/c only a small percentage of it is actually meat.  I am not sure I want to eat there anymore.

Re: No meat @ Taco Bell

  • I did actually read somewhere last year that Taco Bell uses the same grade of meat that is used to make dog food, so this really doesn't surprise me all that much.  I've only eaten there once in my whole life (on a "beverage-induced" visit late one evening) and didn't think it was anything special.  If you think about it, though, how else can their food be so incredibly cheap unless they don't use a lot of meat in it?
  • Makes me glad I don't eat red meat - only chicken.  At least the article said that their chicken was real haha!!! I am one to admit that I like the occasional taco bell run :-)

For the record, the dog food thing is a myth. http://www.snopes.com/food/prepare/badmeat.asp

But yeah. Not surprising that they use the processed junk. Taco Bell is way too cheap- obviously they're skimping somewhere, and where else but the meat?

  • I always knew that they had horrible meat, but was shocked by how low of a percentage it was that was actual meat.

  • I only eat chicken salads or burritos etc. at Taco Bell.  But, in general, I don't order ground beef meals at restaurants.  No reason specifically, I've just never trusted it, especially Taco Bell.
