Hi all!
DH and I just moved (back) to the area and are
starting our search for a new home. Setting our daughter up in a really
good school district is one of the most important criteria for us. Do
you have any advice on which districts/elementary areas to focus on OR
those to stay away from? I went to Mechanicsburg SD so my past memory
is that Mburg, CV, and Camp Hill are good districts to check out...is
that still true these days? What about nearby East Pennsboro or West
Shore SDs? I have no idea how they compare and all these online
sources seem to compare test scores and not much else. Thanks! Im going
to post on thebump too.

Re: School Districts
I live in Camp Hill and I've heard really good things about our schools. When we bought our house that was just about the #1 comment too (oh, that's a great SD!). I don't have any kiddos though, so no first hand experience!
I also wanted to say hi to a neighbor! :-) I love your daughter's name, Maren. Very pretty!
I think it really depends on your priorities...
CH, very small school with lots of individual attention, but not as many opportunities. If you kids are going to play sports, good option since not a lot of numbers, so more playing opportunities.
CV and West Shore, huuuuuge school districts, but lots of opportunities. As for sports/activities, probably only able to do one since there are so many kids there.
East Penn, has a great public relations department, but know a few teachers from there and many aren't impressed with administration, but overall good kids there.
I am sure if you asked people from each district, they would all have their good and bad.
