F/U Diaper rash

Just wanted to say thank you to the ladies that answered. It cleared up the very next day (much sooner then the last round), but t came back yesterday. I didn't change a thing. We kept up with the formula and the cloth diapers. We haven't been eating solids since she's been on a little strike with that. So , for now my guess is teething. It's the only variable that changes???

I just felt so guilty sticking with the formula if it was the problem, basically causing her pain, but after your posts and my DH supporting me we stuck through it. I don't want to keep starting and stopping, since that's just as bad.

Now, if I can only get her tongue to heal (she keeps rubbing it against her rough teeth and it's all white)

Thank you ladies for being my support system and a good ear! When in doubt, I always come to you :)

Re: F/U Diaper rash

  • We are working through a diaper rash as well right now, so the other post was helpful to me as well... he hasn't had one since about 2 weeks old when we switched from pre-folds, so I'm not sure what is going on.  I talked to my dr. office and they said to put cream on and give it 24 hours then call if it doesn't start to clear... they didn't mention anything about teething.  Hope it clears up on it's own, really don't want to have to bring him in for diaper rash!!!
  • Sorry it's coming back, but I'm glad you figured it out!  Teething is a biatch.

And Heather, you wouldn't be the first mom to bring her kid in for diaper rash.  One of Owen's first emergency appointments happened because he got a rash so bad that his balls started bleeding, which scared the beejeezus out of me.  (He was only 3 or 4 months old.)  It was good because they prescribed and anti-fungal.

  • Jack went to the doc before Christmas for a diaper rash, it may seem silly to go in for something that seems like we as (super) moms should be able to take care of... but I am not messing around with the boy parts!  and as soon as we saw the doc and got a rundown of what we should be doing, it went away and has stayed away!
