I'm a bad pet mom
#1. We decided not to bring her with to West Yellowstone. IF she has to be kenneled all day at home, she can deal with it, it's a familiar place for her. Over in MT, we are gone snowmobiling all day, our trip we are planning to Jackson Hole takes all day, and I just don't think she would do as well in a strange environment. I've never left her this long and I'm already stressed out and anxious about it. At least she is going to my son's so she will be able to play with Miika for 10 days.
#2. I haven't had her fixed yet. BUT that being said, I do have an appointment for next Monday. Reason why? I have NOT found a vet in this town that I like. They charge CRAZY expensive amounts for anything up here and the vets we have tried out have been very rude and I didn't trust them doing surgery on my little girl. Last weekend when we were in Bemidji, Miley got really sick. We figured she at some of Rebels (my SIL's golden lab) food, because she threw up for 2 days. I went to her vet there and he was AMAZING!! I don't care if it's 2 hours away! HE is my new vet!! Unless there is another emergency, Miley will not see a vet in GF again. But after the way Dr Tom treated Miley, I knew he was the right one. So surgery is scheduled. And btw, she is fine now! She just doesn't do well with high protein foods!! at all.

You have to be comfortable with your vet!! If we had to drive 2 hours to a good one we certainly would!
